FIFA has announced the match officials for the 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-final between France and Spain, scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
The world football governing body confirmed that the officiating team will be led by a designated centre referee, assisted by two assistant referees and supported by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) team for the highly anticipated last-four encounter.
The France-Spain showdown is expected to be one of the biggest fixtures of the tournament, with both European giants aiming to secure a place in the World Cup final after impressive runs to the semi-finals.
France booked their place in the last four after defeating Morocco 2-0 in the quarter-finals, while Spain edged Belgium 2-1 to set up a blockbuster clash between the two former world champions.
FIFA noted that the appointment of experienced officials reflects the importance of the fixture, with the selected referees expected to oversee the contest in line with the highest standards of officiating.
The winner of the semi-final will progress to the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, while the losing side will compete in the third-place playoff.
