Music and entertainment stars including Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Oprah Winfrey have joined a wave of tributes following the death of country music legend Dolly Parton at the age of 80.
Parton died on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, prompting tributes from prominent figures across the entertainment industry who celebrated her remarkable career, generosity and lasting influence.
Beyoncé described Parton as an important influence and paid tribute to the country icon following their connection through Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter project, which featured Parton in the album’s spoken-word interlude and a reinterpretation of her classic song “Jolene.”
Taylor Swift also honoured Parton, describing her as an enduring example of grace, resilience and generosity. Swift highlighted Parton’s influence on her career and her work supporting children’s literacy through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
Oprah Winfrey was also among the public figures paying tribute as tributes continued to pour in following Parton’s death.
