Zenith Bank Plc has hosted the 10th edition of its International Trade Seminar on Non-Oil Export, bringing together policymakers, regulators, exporters, manufacturers, investors and development partners to explore strategies for expanding Nigeria’s non-oil export sector.

Held virtually on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, under the theme “Unlocking Value and Harnessing Growth,” the seminar focused on moving Nigeria beyond the export of raw commodities by developing competitive value chains and increasing the value generated from non-oil exports.

Discussions centred on export financing, trade infrastructure, customs and port efficiency, regulation, market access and the competitiveness of Nigerian businesses in regional and international markets.

Zenith Bank’s Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dame Adaora Umeoji, said Nigeria’s non-oil exports reached a record $6.1 billion in 2025, representing an 11.5 per cent increase from the $5.46 billion recorded in 2024.

Participants also examined the opportunities presented by the African Continental Free Trade Area and the need to strengthen value addition, production capacity and access to international markets.

The seminar highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration among government, financial institutions and businesses in building a stronger and more competitive non-oil export sector.
