The Nigerian Bar Association has presented a recognition award to social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, during its 2026 Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Otse received the award on Tuesday after participating as a panellist at the conference, where he shared his experiences and views on insecurity and other issues affecting Nigeria.
The award was presented on behalf of the NBA President and members of the association in recognition of his participation and contribution to the discussion.
During the session, VeryDarkMan said he was invited to share his experiences rather than teach lawyers about legal matters. He also raised concerns over insecurity in the country and criticised what he described as inadequate media coverage of killings linked to violent attacks.
His appearance and subsequent recognition at the conference have attracted public attention, particularly given his continued advocacy and public commentary on insecurity and other national issues.
