The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has directed ministers, political appointees and members of the council to participate only in campaign rallies organised in their respective states of origin ahead of the 2027 general election.
The directive was contained in a circular signed by the council’s Director-General, Abdulaziz Yari.
According to the circular, the arrangement is designed to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and ensure effective coordination of campaign activities across the country.
Ministers and other political appointees were specifically instructed to concentrate their mobilisation efforts on their polling units, wards and local government areas in line with the campaign’s proposed pyramid structure.
The council also directed directorates without specific assignments at the rallies to focus on implementing their approved work plans and budgets.
Similarly, members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), except the national chairman, national secretary, national women leader, national youth leader and national organising secretary, were asked to concentrate on party activities and mobilisation within their respective states and geopolitical zones.
However, all NWC members are expected to attend campaign rallies organised in their home states.
The campaign council further stated that the rallies would provide opportunities to promote APC candidates contesting seats in state assemblies, the House of Representatives and the Senate, while highlighting the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
