Mohamed Salah produced a stunning performance on Saturday, scoring a hat-trick as Trabzonspor thrashed Turkish Super Lig leaders Galatasaray 4-0.
Salah opened the scoring just four minutes into the encounter, racing clear of the Galatasaray defence before calmly slotting the ball past goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.
The Egyptian forward turned provider in the 39th minute, setting up Noah Saviolo to double Trabzonspor’s advantage before adding his second goal five minutes later to give the hosts a commanding 3-0 lead at half-time.
Salah completed his hat-trick in the 80th minute, curling the ball into the bottom corner after breaking through the Galatasaray defence.
Galatasaray’s difficult evening was compounded in the closing stages when Lesley Ugochukwu was shown a straight red card in the 87th minute following a VAR review.
Despite the heavy defeat, Galatasaray remain top of the Turkish Super Lig with 13 points from six matches, while Trabzonspor moved to 10 points after the emphatic victory.
The result also saw Salah continue his impressive start to life in Turkey, with the Egyptian emerging as the central figure in Trabzonspor’s emphatic victory.
