Kano Records First Coronavirus Death

Kano State has recorded its first coronavirus death, four days after confirmation of its first case of the disease was recorded.

This was announced yesterday Wednesday by the state ministry of health in a tweet posted via its official handle.

The state health ministry did not disclose the details of the patient who died of the disease but the ministry said there were 21 total cases of COVID-19 in the state.

“Wednesday, 15th April 2020. As at 11:55 pm, 1 death of #COVID19 has been recorded in Kano State,” the health ministry tweeted.

Meanwhile the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC announced on Wednesday night a total of 34 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, of which Kano recorded 12.

“Thirty-four new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows: 18 Lagos 12 in Kano 2 in Katsina 1 in Delta 1 in Niger,” NCDC tweeted.

From the NCDC overall breakdown, Kano State had a total of 16 confirmed cases but the Kano State health ministry gave its record as 21.
