Maola Shopping Mall in the Ebute Ero Market at Idumota, Lagos State has been gutted by fire. As at the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire was unknown but shops 35 and 36 in the mall were strongly affected by the fire. The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has finally directed electricity distribution companies (DisCos) in the country to suspend the proposed tariff increase over the impacts of coronavirus pandemic. The Minister of Finance of Germany’s Hesse state, Thomas Schaefer, has committed suicide reportedly after becoming deeply worried over how to cope with the economic fallout from the coronavirus, state premier Volker Bouffier said Sunday. The 54-year-old finance minister, was found dead near a railway track on Saturday. A request by Air France to use its aircraft to evacuate European citizens in Nigeria have been approved by the Nigerian government due to the spread of coronavirus in the country.  Nigerian government had on March 21 barred international flights into the country.
