The Prime Minister of UK, Boris Johnson has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement on his official twitter handle on Friday, the prime minister said he is now in self-isolation and would continue to lead the government’s response in the fight against COVID-19 via video-conference.
He tweeted: “Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus.
“I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus.
“Together we will beat this #StayHomeSaveLives.”
As of Friday, the country has recorded over 11,000 cases of the virus disease, with over 500 deaths.
