Maiduguri, Borno State — Suspected Boko Haram insurgents launched coordinated attacks on a military base, a police station and a hospital in parts of Borno State, triggering fresh security concerns in Nigeria’s North-East.
According to reports, the attackers targeted multiple public facilities, forcing security personnel into fierce confrontations as residents fled for safety. The attacks reportedly caused casualties and damage to infrastructure, although authorities are still assessing the full extent of the incident.
Security operatives responded to the assaults and engaged the insurgents in gun battles, while reinforcement teams were deployed to restore order and secure the affected communities. Military authorities said operations are ongoing to track down the attackers and prevent further violence.
The latest assault underscores the persistent security challenges in Borno State, where terrorist groups have continued to stage attacks despite sustained military operations aimed at degrading their capabilities. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies as efforts continue to stabilise the region.
