Global financial intelligence firm S&P Global has acquired a majority stake in Agusto & Co, one of Nigeria’s leading credit rating and business information companies, marking a significant development in the country’s financial services sector.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen Agusto & Co’s analytical capabilities by leveraging S&P Global’s expertise, technology and global market insights. Industry stakeholders believe the partnership will enhance the quality of credit ratings, risk assessments and financial data available to businesses and investors.

Officials said the transaction reflects growing international confidence in Nigeria’s financial markets and is expected to support greater transparency, improved access to reliable market information and increased investor confidence.

The deal also positions Agusto & Co to expand its services while contributing to the development of Africa’s credit rating and financial intelligence landscape.
