The Publisher of The MeridianSpy and Chief Executive Officer of Shevlux Media, Sunny Ibeh Jnr., has paid an emotional tribute to his late mentor, leader, and brother, Sheriff Zadok Emeka Eboh, on the sixth anniversary of his passing, describing him as a selfless humanitarian whose impact continues to resonate across generations.
In a heartfelt remembrance titled “Six Years in Glory, Forever in Our Hearts,” Ibeh Jnr reflected on the life and legacy of the former student leader and youth advocate, who passed away in July 7, 2020 at the age of 40.
Opening the tribute with William Shakespeare’s famous quote, “Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more,” Ibeh Jnr said the passage aptly captures the brevity of life while emphasizing that Eboh’s memory has remained alive six years after his death.
According to him, the anniversary was not only a day of remembrance but also an opportunity to celebrate a man whose kindness, courage, generosity, and commitment to humanity continue to inspire many.
Born on November 24, 1979, Eboh distinguished himself as a student leader at Nnamdi Azikiwe University before serving as Special Assistant on Youth and Student Affairs during the administration of former Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano.
Reflecting on developments since Eboh’s demise, Ibeh Jnr noted that Nigeria has witnessed political changes, including the transition from former President Muhammadu Buhari to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He also pointed to what he described as remarkable progress in Abia State under Governor Alex Otti.
He also emphasised the growth of The MeridianSpy, noting that the media platform, which Eboh supported during its founding, has continued to expand seven years after its establishment.
Beyond his public service, Ibeh Jnr described Eboh’s greatest legacy as the countless lives he transformed through acts of generosity and mentorship. According to him, the late youth leader facilitated admissions for hundreds of students into higher institutions, helped more than a thousand people secure employment, and created opportunities for countless young Nigerians without seeking recognition.
“You gave without seeking recognition, believing that true leadership is measured by service to others,” Ibeh said, adding that Eboh provided him with mentorship, encouragement, and opportunities that shaped his leadership journey.
He described the late Eboh as the mentor who laid the foundation for his career in leadership and public service, saying he would remain forever grateful for the guidance he received.
“As we mark six years since your passing, we honour the memory of a brother, leader, mentor, and humanitarian whose legacy continues to live in every life you touched,” he stated.
Ibeh Jnr concluded the tribute by praying for the peaceful repose of Eboh’s soul while urging those inspired by his life to embrace humility, integrity, selfless service, and love for humanity.
Sheriff Zadok Emeka Eboh died in July 2020, leaving behind a legacy that continues to be celebrated by associates, friends, and beneficiaries of his lifelong commitment to youth development and humanitarian service.
