Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has resumed official duties after a two-week annual leave, with preparations for the commencement of his second term now gathering momentum.
The governor’s resumption was confirmed by his Special Adviser on Media, Olayinka Oyebode, who said Oyebanji returned to office on Monday with renewed vigour. According to him, the governor remained engaged with key governance and administrative matters throughout his leave.
Oyebanji’s first term ends on October 15, with his second term scheduled to begin on October 16. He secured re-election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in the June 20 governorship election, defeating his challengers across all 16 local government areas of the state.
His victory made him the first incumbent governor in Ekiti State to win a second term, with the governor previously pledging that the renewed mandate would translate into greater service to the people of the state.
