The Inspector General of Police, Mr Idris Kpotum has deployed 2,000 police mobile force personnel and sniff dogs to the North East to combat Boko Haram insurgency. This set police personnel was deployed in addition to the previous deployments by the Nigeria Police Force in recent times to battle the much dreaded Islamic sect, boko haram this year. Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State stopped his convoy on Sunday to save some unfortunate accident victims. The governor came across an accident scene along Sagamu axis of the Lagos – Ibadan expressway while on an official trip. He and his entourage arrived at the scene of the accident a few minutes after the incident had occurr. On getting to the scene, the governor alighted from his vehicle and joined the rescue team in efforts to save the affected victims. Cameroon have been stripped of hosting next year’s Africa Cup of Nations by the Confederation of African Football. African football’s governing body (Caf) says it is because of delays in the progress of Cameroon’s preparation for the tournament, due to start in June. Officials made the decision at a meeting on Friday in Accra, Ghana, that lasted more than 10 hours.
