Uganda Cricket Association have been awarded the hosting rights for ICC World T20 Africa regional finals for qualification towards ICC World T20 2020 global qualifiers in May 2019. Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose on Friday evening handed over the instruments of office to the Head of Service, Dr. Gbenga Faseluka. Seven delegates of the All progressive Congress, APC, from Gwiwa Local Government Area of Jigawa State have died in motor accident on their way back home. They traveled from their base to cast their votes in Jigawa North West senatorial primaries in Gumel on Wednesday. In the primary election, Abdullahi Sankara emerged winner after polling 2,664 votes, while his distant second, Hadi Ukashatu, got 473 votes.
