Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has approved the extension of the overnight curfew imposed in the state for another 14 days, effective from tomorrow, Wednesday May 13.
Governor Obaseki said the decision to extend the curfew, which is observed between the hours of 8pm and 6am, was taken to ensure that spread of coronavirus in the state is contained while the people are protected.
The governor tweeted: “I have approved the extension of the 8pm to 6am curfew in the state for another 14 days, effective from May 13, 2020. We are taking this step to ensure that we contain the spread of #COVID19 and protect our people.”
The state so far has 79 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 13 discharged and 4 deaths. Total active cases stood at 62.
