Adamu Atiku-Abubakar, son of former vice president, Atiku Abubakar says he sees no wrong in his father’s interest in the 2023 presidential election.

Adamu, who is the Commissioner for Works and Energy in Adamawa State, made the comment while speaking about his ministry’s accomplishments under the administration of Governor Ahmadu Finitiri during the last one year.

The comment has been received as a signal that the 2019 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate may be willing to contest again in 2023, after losing to President Muhammadu Buhari at the polls, although no official statement has been made from Atiku regarding his interest.

“Personally, I don’t see anything wrong with my father contesting for the presidency. In 2023, my father will be aspiring to the number one office in the land because he has been an astute, strategic, master politician for almost four decades,” Adamu said.

“I am basically here to serve my people; if I am called by the people back home to run for the Senate, I don’t see anything wrong with that.”

He also revealed that his late entry into politics was as a result of his father’s advice that in order to have knowledge for public service he needed to gain a lot of experience in the private sector.
