A federal high court in Abuja has ordered the remand of Ali Ndume, Senator representing Borno South, over his inability to produce Abdulrasheed Maina, former Chairman, defunct Pension Reformed Task Team (PRTT), whom he stood for as surety.

At its sitting on Monday, the Justice Okon Abang ordered that Ndume be remanded at the Kuje prison after he failed to file a formal application to show cause why he should not forfeit the bail bond of N500 million deposed to on May 5 to stand as surety for Maina.

Maina is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged fraud.

More details soon.
