Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated former Zamfara State Governor and serving Senator, Abdul’aziz Yari, on his appointment as Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general election.
The governor described Yari’s appointment as a recognition of his extensive political experience, leadership qualities and contributions to national development.
Yusuf expressed confidence that Yari’s experience in governance and legislative leadership would be valuable in coordinating the APC’s campaign and mobilising support ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The governor urged the newly appointed campaign director-general to remain focused on promoting the unity and progress of the ruling party as he takes on the responsibility.
Yari, who served as Zamfara State governor between 2011 and 2019 and currently represents Zamfara West in the Senate, was recently appointed to lead the APC’s presidential campaign as the party prepares for the 2027 election.
The appointment places Yari at the centre of the ruling party’s efforts to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Other key appointments to the campaign council include APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda as a vice-chairman and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as secretary.
Governor Yusuf also prayed for wisdom, strength and good health for Yari as he takes on the new assignment.
The development further highlights the growing political activity within the APC as the party begins preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
