Nollywood stars, family members and friends of late veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, gathered in Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday for his eighth-day Fidau prayer.
The gathering took place at the Stadium in Ilaro, the hometown of the late actor, as family members, colleagues and friends came together to honour his memory and offer prayers for the deceased.
Among the Nollywood personalities present were veteran actors Yinka Quadri and Jide Kosoko, as well as actress Faithia Balogun and other members of the Nigerian film industry.
Ogogo’s daughters, Kira and Lima Taiwo, were also seen at the ceremony, joining other family members and guests who attended the Islamic prayer gathering.
Videos from the event shared on Instagram by Emiralty Africa showed guests arriving in large numbers for the ceremony.
The eighth-day Fidau prayer had earlier been announced by the family through veteran actor Jide Kosoko.
Ogogo died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66. He was buried in Ilaro on August 24, in accordance with Islamic rites.
The gathering brought together members of Ogogo’s family and the entertainment community as they continued to mourn the veteran actor and celebrate his contribution to the Nigerian film industry.
The ceremony also reflected the strong bonds within the Nollywood community, with colleagues and friends coming together to support the family during the period of mourning.
