The Sokoto State Government said it discharged twenty-two coronavirus patients from its isolation facility in Amanawa, after they all tested negative twice for the disease.

Chairman of the Sokoto Task Force Committee on COVID-19 and Commissioner for Health, Ali Inname made the disclosure while briefing reporters on the COVID-19 situation in the state, stating that the 22 new recoveries is the “highest so far achieved by the state”.

Inname stated: “today, we have successfully discharged 22 persons who dually tested negative for COVID-19, making a total of 41 patients discharged out of the 106 confirmed cases in the state.”

But according to records released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC on Tuesday night, out of the 146 new cases, Sokoto State had two new infections, taking the total in the state to 108.
