The Governing Council of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has sacked Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe as Vice Chancellor of the institution.

Prof. Ogundipe was sacked on Wednesday, following a vote for his removal at a meeting of the institution’s Governing Council held at the National Universities Commission in Abuja.

Out of the vote by 12 members of the council, seven voted for the VC’s removal, while four voted against it and one of them voted that he rather be placed on suspension.
