A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has struck out a suit filed against Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki over alleged certificate forgery.
The plaintiffs, namely: Edobor Williams, Ugbesia Abudu Godwin and Amedu Dauda Anakhu, had, in the suit filed before the court, accused Obaseki of forging his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) certificate in classical studies he obtained from the University of Ibadan (UI).
They had prayed the court to, among other things, disqualify the governor from seeking reelection in his state in the forthcoming 2020 governorship election.
However, at the resumed hearing of the case on Monday, the plaintiff, their counsel and the defendant were all absent.
It was on account of this development that Justice Anwuli Chiekere proceeded to strike out the suit.
