The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has today, 18 September 2024, commenced the airlift of electoral materials for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in preparation for the Edo State Governorship Election 2024.

In a statement by Kabiru Ali, Group Captain
Deputy Director Public Relations and Information in Tuesday in Abuja.

He said: “This follows the earlier commitment made by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, during a recent meeting with INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, where the CAS had reiterated NAF’s readiness to provide INEC with transport aircraft to facilitate the swift movement of election materials, as has been done in the past. This airlift demonstrates the NAF’s commitment to fulfilling its constitutional role of providing Military Aid to Civil Authority.
