Top Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has lamented over the current price of naira to the US dollar.
Recall the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) recently devalued the exchange rate between the dollar and naira sold to Bureau De Change (BDC) operators, otherwise called black market, to N390/$1.
A circular by the apex bank also mandated the BDCs to sell to potential buyers at N392/$1 but MERIDIAN SPY observed the naira traded N500/$ at the black market on Monday.
However, Davido took to his Twitter handle on Monday to reveal that he almost cried when he exchanged his naira notes for the dollar.
“Dollar don reach 500 … I changed naira to dollar today and I almost cried smh this country nawa,” the FEM singer wrote.
Davido recently featured in a remake of talented Buzzing artistes, Ajebo Hustlers’ Barawo remix, a song which highlighted the diminishing state of the country, extrajudicial killings, and police brutality.
