Kaduna State government has announced the discharge of two coronavirus patients in the state.

A media aide to the state governor, Muyiwa Adekeye who made the disclosure, in a statement on Tuesday, said 65, out of the 81 cases recorded in the state, are almajiri children who were deported from Kano State and two policemen.

Adekeye said seven other cases, out of the 72 active cases on admission, “are persons with travel history outside Kaduna state or their contact”.

He stated: “Since the index case was reported on 28 March 2020, the state has discharged eight patients and has recorded one fatality who died before his positive test result was received.

“Overall, 81 cases have been recorded in the state but the active cases are now 72.”

Yesterday Monday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC reported 23 new cases of the virus in Kano, out of the 245 new cases confirmed in the country.

However, from NCDC last record, Kano remains the highest after Lagos with 365 cases of the disease.
