President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a new package of welfare benefits for civil servants, including an Exit Benefit Scheme, an Employee Compensation Scheme, and a ₦10 billion housing loan programme for public servants.

The approvals are part of ongoing efforts by the administration to improve workers’ welfare, boost morale, and strengthen productivity across the public service.

Among the key measures approved by the President is the implementation of an Exit Benefit Scheme designed to support civil servants at the end of their service years, as well as an Employee Compensation Scheme aimed at providing relief and protection for workers in the course of duty.

President Tinubu also approved a 100 per cent Duty Tour Allowance for civil servants attending training programmes, alongside a review and upward adjustment of peculiar allowances tied to training activities.

The new measures are expected to encourage capacity development, improve staff motivation, and enhance efficiency in government institutions.

In addition, the President approved a ₦10 billion Housing Loan Scheme to enable public servants access affordable housing support and improve home ownership opportunities.

The latest approvals underscore the administration’s commitment to repositioning the civil service and rewarding public servants for their contributions to national development.

Observers say the initiatives could significantly improve living conditions for workers while reinforcing confidence in the government’s reform agenda.
