APC chieftain, Hon. Obidike Chukwuebuka, has warned that Nigerians could regret voting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu out of office in the 2027 presidential election, arguing that continuity is necessary to consolidate the reforms introduced by his administration.
Obidike, who is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Clarivo Holdings Limited, said the Tinubu administration inherited a difficult economic situation but had taken what he described as bold and painful decisions to address longstanding structural challenges.
He cited the removal of petrol subsidy, foreign exchange reforms, increased revenue mobilisation, student loans, infrastructure development, healthcare interventions and local government financial autonomy among the major initiatives of the administration.
According to him, Nigerians should assess the reforms beyond their immediate economic impact, noting that some of the benefits would require time to fully materialise.
The APC chieftain argued that increased Federation Account allocations had expanded the fiscal space available to states and local governments, while initiatives such as NELFUND had opened new opportunities for students from financially constrained backgrounds.
He also listed several ongoing infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Road, Enugu-Onitsha Expressway and other major federal road projects.
Obidike maintained that the 2027 election should be viewed as a choice between continuity and a change of direction, stressing that Nigeria needs stability and consolidation of the reforms already underway.
He therefore urged Nigerians to support Tinubu’s re-election, warning that losing the President at this stage could, in his view, be a “fatal mistake.”
