Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives, has said the 2021 budget proposal will not be passed if there is no provision for compensation for victims of police brutality in the country.

Gbajabiamila stated this on the floor of the House before it went into a closed-door session on Tuesday.

The Speaker added that he would not endorse a budget that does not also meet the “reasonable demands” of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

More details soon.
