Gunmen Kill Woman, raze Houses in Kaduna

Gunmen suspected to be Fulani militia killed a woman and burnt houses during an attack on Runji (Sankwab) village, Atyap Chiefdom in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The Wednesday night attack became the third in about three weeks, the first casualty was when about 33 persons were killed and about 40 houses were completely razed down by the attackers.

According to the DAILY POST, a source from the village said that the gunmen also burnt down houses and the Baptist Church in the area was not spared.

The source said “The attackers came to the village in their numbers to carry out their mission but for the quick intervention of the military personnel, the situation was brought under control and as l am talking to you, a search is ongoing to ascertain the number of casualties suffered in the area.”

He called on the federal and Kaduna State governments to take proactive measures to avert the ugly incidents happening in Atyap land, saying that the inhabitants had witnessed incessant attacks leading to the loss of lives and destruction of valuables.
