A Benin based humanitarian and action group, Action Integrated Movement (AIM), has donated palliatives to some less privileged persons across the Benin metropolis, MERIDIAN SPY, can report.

The donations were made on Wednesday in Benin by representatives of the group to some of the “poorest of the poor.”

The palliatives were food items donated as relief materials to cushion the effects of hunger and partial lockdown activities currently in place in the state.

Speaking shortly after the donation, the convener and founder of the group, Comr. Ogedegbe John Ehireme, said the gesture was to help mitigate sufferings among indigent persons in the state battling hard times as a result of COVID-19 induced measures.

Comr. Ogedegbe, however, said there were different phases of his  humanitarian interventions, noting that the donation made on Wednesday was the first phase of his humanitarian interventions.

He remarked that other phases of his interventions would be reeled out accordingly in days to come.

About 700 widows, men and youths were handed packs containing different food items like rice, tubers of yam, groundnut oil, salt, tin tomatoes, among other items.

Beneficiaries of the gesture , however, showered praises and encomiums on the founder of the group, Ogedegbe John Ehireme, and his team for remembering them amid the current  situation in the country.

The group had in December 2019 donated several food items to a section of indigent widows in Benin to enable them  merry with others in the last festive period.
