The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) is expected to arraign former Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, before a Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday over allegations of certificate forgery.

The prosecution follows weeks of investigations after the former minister was reportedly arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on July 1 at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, while preparing to board a private flight to Abuja. He was subsequently transferred to the ICPC for further investigation.

The case is scheduled to be heard before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

According to court documents, Nnaji is facing charges relating to the alleged forgery of academic credentials, including a Bachelor of Science certificate purportedly issued by the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), as well as a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate.

The allegations surfaced months after the former minister resigned from office amid growing controversy surrounding his educational qualifications. The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, has reportedly distanced itself from the certificate allegedly presented by the former minister.

Court filings indicate that Nnaji is the sole defendant in the case, which centres on allegations of document forgery.
