BREAKING: 553 New COVID-19 Infections, Highest Single Day Record In Nigeria

553 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Nigeria, the highest single day recorded in the country.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) broke the news late night Saturday via its verified Twitter handle.

Out of the 553 new cases, 378 were confirmed in Lagos, 52 in FCT, 23 in Delta, 22 in Edo, 14 in Rivers, 13 in Ogun, 12 in Kaduna, nine in Kano, seven in Borno, six in Katsina, five in Jigawa and Oyo, three in Yobe and Plateau and one in Osun.

159 patients in total were discharged across the country, taking the total recoveries to 2,856, while total fatalities also rose to 273.
