President Muhammadu Buhari says he would address the country today Monday, April 13, 2020 at 7pm. This was announced by the President’s aide on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, on Monday. According to Mr Adesina, television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast.

The Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced the discharge of seven more COVID-19 patients who have fully recovered in the state. The governor made the announcement on Friday via his social media handle, expressing joy and satisfaction over the development. He said the discharged patients include, four males and three females, noting that the patients were fully recovered and had tested negative twice. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, in a press release made available to the media, confirmed the arrest. Boris Johnson, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, has been admitted to a hospital due to ongoing symptoms related to coronavirus, according to the BBC. The prime minister “continues to have persistent symptoms of coronavirus,” a spokeswoman said. She called Johnson’s hospitalization a precautionary step. A 63-year-old man was shot dead in the Philippines after threatening village officials and police with a scythe at a coronavirus checkpoint, police said on Saturday. According to a statement from Buckingham Palace, Queen Elizabeth II will give a rare televised address on tonight to address the coronavirus pandemic. A coronavirus patient has been discharged at the Infectious Disease Hospital IDH in Yaba, Lagos, bringing the total discharge patients to 24 in the state.
