Report released today indicated that twenty-eight million nine hundred thousand people living in Nigeria and other West and Central African countries depend on emergency food assistance for survival, World Bank report. This is despite an above-average yield in the 2022/23 agricultural season. A Nigerian laboratory, the Central Public Health Laboratory (CPHL), Lagos, recently attained a World Health Organisation (WHO) full laboratory accreditation status in respect of its contribution to the fight against measles and rubella in the country.
