Nigerian Army troops have thwarted multiple kidnap attempts and rescued the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, during a security operation in Zamfara State.
According to military authorities, the operation was carried out following intelligence on the movement of suspected kidnappers. Troops engaged the criminals, forcing them to abandon their captives and flee the scene.
The rescued rector was safely recovered, while security personnel have continued efforts to track down the fleeing suspects and strengthen security in the area to prevent further attacks.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining operations against criminal groups across the North-West and urged residents to continue providing credible information to support security efforts.
