Air platforms of Operation Hadin Kai have reportedly destroyed two gun trucks belonging to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and killed fighters during air strikes in Aduwa village, Guzamala Local Government Area of Borno State.
The strikes were carried out on August 21 against ISWAP fighters operating around the Lake Chad axis as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the group’s formations, logistics and movement.
According to intelligence cited in the report, one of the gun trucks was completely burnt, while another was damaged. Surviving fighters were reportedly seen evacuating casualties from the area, with some wounded insurgents and a damaged vehicle being moved towards the Lake Chad area.
The exact number of fighters killed or wounded was not immediately established, while the identities of any senior ISWAP commanders potentially eliminated in the operation were still being verified.
