Media executive and public affairs analyst, Sunny Ibeh Jnr, has hailed Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, describing his administration as a renaissance that has restored a renewed sense of pride, accountability and hope among Abians, while labelling the imprints of successive administrations before the current dispensation as “despicable, kleptocratic and grubby.”
Ibeh stated this in a statement released in Abuja on Friday to mark Abia State’s 35th anniversary, describing the milestone as a feat achieved through “sweat, struggles and divine intervention.” He said the current transformation in the state was chiefly driven by the renaissance set in motion by Governor Otti, rather than being a product of the administrations that preceded him.
The media executive said he was celebrating Abia at 35 because the incumbent administration had given Abians a “renewed sense of pride,” driven by what he described as outstanding accomplishments and the hope that more would come.
He described the transformation as an expression of “leadership accountability at its core,” adding that, by extension, the state had witnessed an entrenched exhibition of proactiveness, grandeur and excellence under the present administration.
Ibeh also extolled what he described as the “endearing leadership qualities” of Governor Otti, whom he called “the architect of transformation” for setting Abia on the path of prosperity and greatness.
According to him, the governor had achieved the feat in less than three years in office, after what he described as “twenty-four years of misfortune and infamy.”
“Today, Abia is a proof that the beauty of any democracy lies in the hands of those entrusted with power, and primarily so,” Ibeh said.
He congratulated all Abians, both at home and in the diaspora, describing the developments under the Otti administration as “a paradigm shift.”
“This is a paradigm shift, and it is here for an elongation,” he said, while expressing appreciation to Governor Otti for his leadership.
