No fewer than forty doctors and health workers, out of the fifty diagnosed with coronavirus disease, have recovered and successfully been discharged at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Kano AKTH.
Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe, the Chief Medical Director, made the disclosure while receiving donation of some hospital consumables and food items from Orange Drugs Limited, one of the supplier of drugs to hospitals.
“It is really a thing of joy to share with you that the review on the test of those workers who were infected by COVID -19 some weeks ago and put on isolation was just forwarded to me with 40 of them testing negative. No death recorded and no condition attached with the discharged,” Sheshe said.
He said the remaining 10 health workers still on isolation were doing very well and would probably be discharged before the Eid-El-Fitr celebration.
Kano State last recorded five new COVID-19 cases, out of the 284 new infections confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.
The state however has a total of 847 confirmed cases out of 6,677 recorded in the country.
