29-Year-Old Banker Becomes First COVID-19 Case In Yobe

Yobe State Government confirmed Thursday its first case of coronavirus.

The Chairman of the Committee on Prevention and Control of COVID 19 in the State, Idi Barde Gubana confirmed the index case to be a 29-year-old banker of a new generation bank who is unmarried and lives with his parents.

The patient was said not to have any history of travel to any of the COVID -19 high burden state, raising fear of community transmission in the state.

Meridian Spy had reported the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC on Wednesday night confirmed the case but did not reveal the details of the patient.
