The University of Benin Alumni Association, Abuja Branch, has concluded its 2026 UBAAA Week, a two-day programme designed to strengthen alumni bonds, promote wellness, encourage community service and foster sustainable prosperity.
Held on Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13, 2026, in Abuja, the programme was themed “Stronger Together: Building Connections, Creating Impact and Sustaining Prosperity.”
The first day featured a road walk, morning drills and exercise at City Park, Wuse 2, followed by a health talk, VitalSigns health checks, a picnic and social interaction among members.
As part of its community outreach, members also visited Destiny Child Orphanage Home, where they made donations and spent time with the children.
The second day featured the branch’s monthly general meeting and gala night at Soul Lounge Resort and Hotel, Jahi, Abuja.
A major highlight of the event was a guest lecture titled “The Wealth Mindset: Turning Knowledge, Skills, and Networks into Lasting Prosperity,” delivered by Mr. Francis Daniel Okumagba, President and Founder of FMG Platform and Empowerment Ltd/GTE.
Chairman of the UBAAA Week, Mr. Glory Idehen, said the programme provided an avenue to strengthen unity among members while giving alumni yet to register with the association an opportunity to experience its spirit of togetherness and harmony.
He thanked members and guests for their participation, assuring that the branch would continue to grow while carrying everyone along.
“We will keep soaring higher, moving from one level of growth to another, while ensuring that everyone is carried along,” he said.
Also speaking, the branch’s Public Relations Officer, Olwayomi Noma-Eke, expressed satisfaction with the turnout and overall success of the programme.
He said the branch remained committed to engaging existing and prospective members through sustained publicity, media relations and communication activities across Abuja.
Noma-Eke added that such engagements would help strengthen the branch’s visibility, encourage greater participation and ensure that alumni yet to join remain connected to the activities of the association.
The 2026 UBAAA Week brought members together for wellness, community service, networking and professional engagement, reinforcing the branch’s commitment to building stronger connections, creating lasting impact and promoting sustainable prosperity.
