The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has appointed two seasoned professionals, Mr. Andy Odeh and Mrs. Morenike Adewunmi, to head its Corporate Communications and Relations departments.

In a press statement released by the company on Tuesday,  the company says Mr. Odeh takes on the role of Chief Corporate Communications Officer, while Mrs. Adewunmi assumes the position of Chief Relations Officer.

Odeh, a veteran with more than three decades of experience across the oil and gas, advertising, and broadcasting sectors, spent 26 years at Nigeria LNG (NLNG), where he rose to the position of General Manager of External Relations and Sustainable Development. At NLNG, he played key roles in community relations, corporate communications, government affairs, and regulatory compliance.

He is credited with spearheading the company’s rebranding, implementing a widely acclaimed micro-credit scheme for host communities, and instituting the NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting. Odeh is an alumnus of the University of Jos, University of Lagos, INSEAD Business School, and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

Mrs. Adewunmi, on the other hand, is a legal practitioner with more than 25 years of industry experience, brings deep expertise in stakeholder management and advocacy. She served extensively at the Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN), where she was Regulatory Affairs Manager and later Government Relations Manager, overseeing high-level engagements with the Presidency, ministries, departments, and agencies.

Known for her leadership skills and strong stakeholder networks, Adewunmi is recognised as a subject matter expert on non-technical risks. She studied law at Olabisi Onabanjo University and the Nigerian Law School.
