Minister Forfeits May Salary To Secure Release Of 5 Inmates At Kuje Correctional Service

Minister of State, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu has forfeited her May 2020 salary to secure the release of five inmates at the Kuje Correctional Service.

This was disclosed on Wednesday via the official Twitter handle of the FCT Administration.

According to the FCTA, Aliyu made the donation while felicitating with the inmates on the occasion of the Eid-El-Fitr celebration.

The five inmates were said to be unable to pay for their fines and got rescued by the FCT minister.

The tweet reads: “The FCT Minister of State, @DrRamatuAliyu, has forfeited her May 2020 salary to secure the release of 5 inmates who could not pay for their fines at the Kuje Correctional Service.

“She made the donation while felicitating with the inmates on this year’s Eid-El-Fitr celebration.”
