Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a new round of appointments and promotions aimed at reinforcing governance and improving service delivery across critical sectors of the state.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Among those appointed is Hon. Abdulkadir Balarabe Kankarofi (Alhajiji), who has been elevated from Senior Special Assistant on Protocol I to Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs.Hajia Aisha Tamburawa, a former Supervisory Councillor in Dawakin Kudu Local Government, was appointed Special Adviser on Positive Propaganda.
In the water sector, Engr. Mukhtar Yusuf was promoted from Deputy Managing Director to Managing Director of the Water Resources Engineering and Construction Agency (WRECA), while Zakari Usman Balan emerged as the new Deputy Managing Director of the agency.
The governor also appointed Dr. Mukhtar Bello Maisudan, a senior lecturer at Bayero University, Kano, as Executive Secretary of the Kano State Scholarship Board.
Similarly, Engr. Abba Kankarofi was promoted to Managing Director of the Kano Road and Maintenance Agency (KARMA), having previously served as Deputy Managing Director. Hon. Musayyib Kawu Ungoggo was appointed Managing Director of the Kano Zoological Garden, bringing his experience from previous political roles, including councillorship and Senior Special Reporter.
Governor Yusuf urged the newly appointed and promoted officials to justify the confidence placed in them by demonstrating dedication, transparency and commitment to public service.
