I’m Open to Reconciliation with Kwankwaso — Ganduje
Former Kano State Governor and immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has said he remains open to reconciling with his longtime political ally and mentor, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.
Ganduje made the remark during an interview with BBC Hausa while reacting to the recent defection of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, to the ruling APC.
According to Ganduje, political differences should not permanently divide leaders who once shared a common struggle, noting that reconciliation remains possible.
“As Muslims, is there anyone we cannot reconcile with? We are politicians, and we hope to settle our differences and continue the political struggle together. We struggled politically side by side in the past, and we are brothers,” Ganduje said.
His comments come amid shifting political alignments in Kano State following Governor Yusuf’s move to the APC, a development that has reshaped the state’s political landscape and reignited conversations around possible reconciliations among key political actors.
