As more celebrities continue to reveal stories of how they got violated, especially at their tender age, Disc Jockey, DJ Switch is now the latest to divulge her story of how she got defiled at the age of 11 by her uncle who also is a priest.
This comes as the Nigeria Police continue its hunt for the perpetrators of Uwaila Vera Omozuwa who was raped at a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Benin and eventually passed away in at the University of Benin Teaching hospital (UBTH).
Spokesman of Edo police command, Chidi Nwabuzor confirmed to journalists, one of the suspects linked to the rape of the 22-year-old University of Benin (UNIBEN) undergraduate has however been arrested by police officers attached to the police command in the state.
Nwabuzor said the suspect was arrested after the deceased was rushed to the hospital and the fingerprint on the fire extinguisher she was attacked with was examined.
He said the suspect was apprehended after the Area Commander of Ikpoba Hill mobilized his men to take action.
DJ Switch, in an Instagram post on Monday, lamented how sad she feels seeing comments about rape victims, with questions like; “what did she wear?”, “Where did she go?”, “Why was she alone”?
She said her uncle and a priest, named Basil, used to forcefully touch her, then threaten her to ensure she remains silent but only two people knew the story, her immediate elder brother, Emma and her sister, Lola.
“I hadn’t posted about this in particular cus it was hard for me personally but I must say my story and be free of it! When people say “what did she wear?” “Where did she go?” “Why was she alone”? I curse those people!,” DJ Switch wrote.
“I’ve never told this story outside only 2 people, my immediate elder brother Emma n my sis Lola! I was a child, about 11years old when my uncle, as in real life relative uncle would forcefully touch me and threaten me on top that he would not bless me if I tell my parents, now here’s the shocker… He was a priest! His name is Basil. I’m sure some of my family members will be shocked when they see this.
“As a kid, my clothing, being alone or with family, friends or playing outside should have never been a curse but just what a kid does. Every man/woman in this world was born of a woman, a mother, sister, daughter… And I tell u, any woman who is violated against her will can and should lay a curse on the generation of the rapist! A child molester! A pervert!
“There are women that do this too, though it’s mostly men that are caught out and so I curse those type of men and women that rape .. may their lust drive them to insanity and wretchedness! #justiceforuwaandtina.”
Recall that, Busola Dakolo, the wife of popular artiste, Timi Dakolo, had similarly, last year, spoken out about how she survived a rape ordeal by the founder of The Commonwealth of Zion Church (COZA) Biodun Fatoyinbo.
But after the issue was taken to court in search for justice for the alleged rape, a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in Bwari dismissed the suit filed by photographer, Busola against the Senior COZA Pastor.
