Buhari wins Ekiti, Osun, leading in Ogun

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared President Muhammadu Buhari winner of the election in Ekiti and Osun states.

The president, who is in a clear lead in the results so far declared in the north, extended his winning streak to the south-west. He is leading in 13 of the 16 local government areas of Ogun state so far declared by INEC. There are 20 LGs in the state.

In Ekiti, Buhari scored a total of 219,231 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar,presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 154,032 votes.

Buhari polled 347,674 votes in Osun while Atiku polled 337,377 votes, with the APC candidate leading with a margin of 10,297.

The figures declared by the collation officers showed that Buhari led in 18 out of the 30 local government areas in the state, while Atiku led in the remaining 12 local government areas.
