BREAKING: Lagos Health Commissioner, Abayomi Recovers From COVID-19

Prof. Akin Abayomi, Lagos State Commissioner for Health, has recovered from the dreaded coronavirus disease, week after contracting the virus.

This was disclosed by the state health ministry on Monday via its verified Twitter handle.

According to the health ministry, Prof. Abayomi will be returning to his full duties gradually.

“It is with gratitude to God that I announce the recovery & subsequent negative test for #COVID19 of the Honorable Commissioner for Health and #COVID19Lagos Deputy Incident Commander,” the tweet reads.

“He will be returning to his full duties gradually and remains resolute in delivering the mandate of Governor @jidesanwoolu, whom he says stood by him steadfastly in these trying times and is very appreciative of.

“#COVID19Lagos Incident Commander, Governor @jidesanwoolu is excited by the news and urges Lagosians to realise that #COVID19 is still with us. He reteirated the need for citizens to keep obeying the #COVID19 public advisories & guidelines @gbenga_omo Commissioner for Info &Strat.”
