Some Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Banki area of Bama Local Government Area in Borno State are currently protesting over shortage of food and inadequate care at the camps.

The IDPs who began their protest on Monday, were said to have destroyed cars and other valuables around the community to press home their demand for adequate food supply, among other issues.

“They are currently protesting seriously that they are hungry. They have destroyed cars and properties. It is very serious,” a resident of the area told Sahara Reporters.

More details soon.
