BREAKING: 681 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed In Nigeria, Total Tops 14,000

681 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Nigeria; the highest single-day record, taking the total to 14,554 in the country.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) broke the news on Thursday night via its verified Twitter handle.

The 681 new cases were confirmed from 17 states of the nation. Lagos again topped the list with 345 cases, followed by Rivers 51 and Ogun 48.

Others are Gombe-47, Oyo-36, Imo-31, Delta-28, Kano-23, Bauchi-18, Edo-12, Katsina-12, Kaduna-9, Anambra-7, Jigawa-5, Kebbi-4, Ondo-4 and Nasarawa-1.

A total of 4,494 patients have recovered from the virus disease while five new deaths were recorded, taking the total to 387.

The breakdown released by NCDC reads: “681 new cases of #COVID19;
